  • Why we WORSHIP the way we do
  • Worship Defined: Worship is the loving and joyful response of a born-again, Spirit-filled soul to God's revelation of Himself through His written Word, the Holy Bible.

When we are really free from sin and free to worship God in the spirit of His Holiness, then we can sing, shout, clap our hands and dance with all our might.

Worship must come from a heart of faith placed and based in the risen Christ, our Redeemer.

Worship is not boring at Bristol Assembly of God. Here our styles and methods vary, but our passion is the same. Read these Scriptures to help you understand why we worship the way we do.

"Rejoice in the Lord always. Again, I will say rejoice." - Philippians 4:4

"For You, Lord, have made me glad through Your work: I will triumph in the works of Your hands." Psalm 92:4

God's people rejoicing can be clearly seen in Exodus 15 when the Israelite people, numbering over one and a half million, danced and celebrated the Great Name of God because of the miraculous victory He won.

Dancing, shouting, and similar celebrations can be seen at a sporting match, yet nothing can be compared with the defeat of Satan's tyranny by Christ hanging on the cross, the drowning of our terrible sins in the sea of forgetfulness, and the outpouring of God's love and joy by the Holy Spirit into a clean, new heart He made for us. Let's REJOICE! music notes

"Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." - Colossians 3:16

Singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs born out of the creativity of one who is devoted to Christ pleases God and it is an important part of our worship to Him.

Join us as we raise our voices with those around the world who "worship the Father in Spirit and in Truth." (John 4:24)
