Are you dressed for the walk?

In order to walk victoriously, we need to put on the right gear! God's Word tells us to put on spiritual equipment and use it by faith. Here are some suggestions for how to slip on your spiritual gear! Pray as you ....

Put on the helmet of salvation to guard your thinking. Choose to have thoughts that will please God and keep with your identity in Christ. (Romans 12:2)

Put on the breastplate of righteousness to help protect your heart and emotions from the influence of evil (Proverbs 4:23) and to enable you to have godly affections. (Galations 5:22)

Put on the belt of truth. To know the truth, live by the truth, and to share the truth with others.

Put on the sandals of peace, going where the Lord would have you to go and that you would be a peacemaker. Being at peace with God and with man. (Matthew 5:9)

Take up the shield of faith, to cover and protect from the Enemy's fiery darts. (Romans 10:17)

Take up the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God, and to use it offensively to share the salvation message and defensively to protect yourself and others. The truth of God's promises defeat the attacks of our enemies. (Matthew 4:1-11)

Ephesians 6:10-18. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
