Think Positively Thankful (July 2008)
Here are a few pointers to enjoy a really good summer! Think “positively thankful”!
Wake up each morning and sing out, “It’s all because of Jesus I’m alive!”
Flex your toes and stretch out your arms and legs repeating, “Take my hands Lord, and my feet; touch my heart Lord, speak through me, If you can use anything Lord, you can use me.”
When you go to work thank God for the bus driver or for your car and be glad you are moving ahead.
If you are walking, thank God for your legs, the breeze of traffic and the beautiful creation you get to see as you walk.
At work, whether at home or in some other place, thank God He that He has given you a job with abilities and talents to help someone else!
When your boss, or family members, don’t seem appreciative of all you do, remember God is always concerned with what you do and will reward you for your faithfulness to honor Him.
Doing some gardening? Thank God for His sunshine, His rain, His earth that we can work in and receive His blessing and benefit from.
Pulling weeds? Thank God that when you confess your sins, He forgives you of your sins and chooses to remember them no more!
Sweating in the hot sun? Thank God all your body systems are working well and that the sunshine is brightening up depressed hearts.
At the beach? Look at the beauty of Creator God, who reveals Himself to you in marvelous and beautiful ways.
At the park? Stand amazed as you observe the intricacies God has built into every living thing.
Swatting bugs? Think of how many times God has protected you from dangers, seen and unseen, and thank Him.
Stuck in traffic? Take time to rehearse Scripture, listen to and sing worship songs to God, write a poem or a song to bless God.....
Car overheated? Thank God that you who believe in Him and the Son he sent for your salvation and so you will never suffer the eternal lake of fire.
On your bed each night, remember what God has done and what He has spoken to you by His Word and in your day, be thankful and bless His Name!
Whatever comes your way, turn your thinking to what God says, to who He is and to what will honor Him....
Psalm 19:13-14 (NIV) - Keep your servant also from willful sins; may they not rule over me. Then will I be blameless, innocent of great transgression. May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O LORD, my Rock and my Redeemer.
Colossians 3”15-16 (NIV) - Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.
Philippians 2: 12 – 16 (NIV) - Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose. Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life.....
