Being baptized in water is a public expression of following Jesus! It marks the transition from an old life of sin and selfishness to a new life of love and godliness. An Ethiopian eunuch of high rank was baptized by Phillip on the same day Christ was preached to him. Jesus was baptized in water to fulfill all righteousness. Everyone who believes in Christ is baptized in water as an act of repentance for their sins. We cannot take away our sins. No amount of soap and water can do that. Only Christ who covers our sins with His own blood can take away our sins from us so we will never see them again. By faith we reckon ourselves dead to sin and by faith we follow Christ in the newness of life He has provided. God bless those who have repented and are baptized. He always does!
